Equipment

  • Stand mixer or electric hand mixer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and measuring spoons
  • Large cookie scoop (about ¼ cup)
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula or butter knife (for frosting)
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

Sugar Cookies

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp salt

Pink Almond Frosting

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1–2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions

Preheat the oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream the butter and sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.

Add the wet ingredients

  • Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until fully combined and smooth.

Combine the dry ingredients

  • In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.

Make the cookie dough

  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.

Shape the cookies

  • Scoop about ¼ cup of dough for each cookie and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 3 inches apart, then gently flatten each ball into a thick disc.

Bake the cookies

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Do not overbake. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool completely on a cooling rack.

Make the pink almond frosting

  • In a clean bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the powdered sugar, almond extract, and heavy cream, then mix until smooth and fluffy. Add pink food coloring and mix until you reach the classic Crumbl pink color.

Frost the cookies

  • Once the cookies are fully cooled, spread a thick layer of pink almond frosting over each cookie using a spatula or butter knife.

Chill before serving (optional but authentic)

  • For the most authentic bakery-style texture, chill the frosted cookies for about 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use almond extract for authentic flavor
The signature flavor of the classic pink cookie from Crumbl Cookies comes from almond extract in both the cookie dough and frosting, which gives these cookies their distinct bakery-style taste.
Make thick bakery-style cookies
For the classic Crumbl look, use large cookie dough portions (about ¼ cup each) and slightly flatten them before baking. This creates the signature large, soft sugar cookies.
Do not overbake
These cookies should remain soft and pale in the center. Remove them from the oven when the edges are just set to keep the texture tender and chewy.
Chill for the authentic Crumbl experience
Crumbl Pink Sugar Cookies are traditionally served chilled, which helps the almond frosting firm up and creates the classic texture.
Customize the frosting color
You can adjust the amount of pink food coloring to create a light pastel pink frosting or a deeper bakery-style pink, depending on your preference.
Storage tips
Store frosted cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving for the best texture.
