Equipment

  • Blender
  • measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • tall glasses
  • spoon
  • straw

Ingredients

Blue Raspberry Slushy

  • 2 cups ice
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • ¼ cup blue raspberry syrup or blue raspberry drink mix prepared strong
  • 1–2 tbsp sugar or simple syrup optional, to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional, for brightness

Float Assembly

  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Extra blue raspberry syrup for drizzle (optional)
  • Whipped cream optional
  • Fun toppings: sprinkles maraschino cherries, gummy candy, or rock candy sticks

Instructions

Make the slushy

  • Add ice, water, blue raspberry syrup, sugar (if using), and lemon juice to a blender. Blend until thick and icy but pourable.

Assemble the floats

  • Add 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream to each tall glass.

Layer

  • Pour blue raspberry slushy over the ice cream, filling the glass about ¾ full.

Top & serve

  • Add another scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Finish with whipped cream, extra syrup drizzle, and fun toppings if desired.

Serve immediately

  • Enjoy right away with a straw and spoon!

Notes

  • Slushy texture: For the best consistency, blend just until icy and thick. Over-blending will turn it into a drink instead of a slush.
  • Sweetness control: Blue raspberry syrups vary in sweetness—taste after blending and adjust with sugar or extra ice as needed.
  • Ice cream choice: Classic vanilla works best, but French vanilla or vanilla bean add extra richness.
  • Fizzy option: Swap the water for lemon-lime soda for a bubbly float with extra zip.
  • Layering tip: Add ice cream first, then pour the slushy slowly to create a foamy float effect.
  • Serve immediately: Slushy floats melt quickly, so assemble right before serving.
  • Kid-friendly tip: Use smaller glasses and one scoop of ice cream for little hands.
  • Make-ahead: The slushy base can be frozen and re-blended just before serving.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Extra fizzy: Replace water with lemon-lime soda for a slushy float with bubbles.
  • Dairy-free: Use dairy-free vanilla ice cream.
  • Party pitcher: Blend slushy base ahead and keep frozen; re-blend before serving.
  • Color pop: Add edible glitter or rock candy for a carnival-style look.
  • Mocktail vibe: Add a splash of coconut cream for a creamy twist.
