Notes

Use Quality Barbecue Sauce

The barbecue sauce is one of the main flavors in this BBQ Chicken Wrap, so choose one that you genuinely enjoy. Sweet, smoky, spicy, honey, or hickory-style barbecue sauces all work well and can slightly change the overall flavor profile of the wrap.

Rotisserie Chicken Saves Time

Rotisserie chicken is an excellent shortcut for busy weeknights and meal prep. It adds plenty of flavor while keeping preparation quick and easy. If cooking chicken specifically for this recipe, boneless skinless chicken thighs provide the juiciest and most flavorful results.

Don't Skip the Slaw

The tangy slaw helps balance the sweetness of the barbecue sauce and the richness of the cheese and BBQ ranch sauce. The combination of apple cider vinegar, honey, and pickle juice adds freshness and crunch to every bite.

Toast for the Best Texture

Toasting the assembled wraps in a skillet creates a golden, lightly crisp exterior that improves both flavor and texture. It also helps keep the fillings secure inside the tortilla and prevents the wraps from falling apart while eating.

Great for Meal Prep

For the freshest results, store the chicken, slaw, and BBQ ranch sauce separately in the refrigerator. Assemble and toast the wraps just before serving to keep the vegetables crisp and the tortillas from becoming soggy.

Easy Customizations

These BBQ Chicken Wraps are easy to customize. Add crispy bacon for extra smoky flavor, sliced avocado for creaminess, grilled corn for sweetness, or pickled jalapeños for a spicy kick. Each variation pairs perfectly with the smoky barbecue chicken and tangy slaw.
