Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough or artisan bread
  • 2–3 ox brie cheese sliced (rind on or off)
  • 2–3 tbsp blackberry preserves or compote
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • Optional: fresh thyme or honey drizzle

Instructions

  • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, into a cold skillet.
  • Layer brie slices evenly over the bread.
  • Spoon blackberry preserves over the brie.
  • Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  • Cook over medium-low heat until the bottom is golden brown.
  • Flip carefully and cook until the second side is golden and the brie is fully melted.
  • Remove from the pan, rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve.
