Blend

  • Add caramelized bananas, ice cream, and milk to a blender. Blend until thick, creamy, and smooth.

Serve

  • Pour into glasses and garnish generously. Serve immediately while ultra-creamy.

Notes

  • Banana ripeness matters: Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for maximum sweetness and flavor.
  • Cool before blending: Let the caramelized bananas cool slightly so they don’t melt the ice cream too fast.
  • Thickness control: Add milk gradually—less for a spoon-thick shake, more for a sippable texture.
  • Rum is optional: The milkshake still delivers classic Bananas Foster flavor without alcohol. Substitute banana extract or extra vanilla if desired.
  • Caramel depth: Dark brown sugar gives a richer, more molasses-like flavor than light brown sugar.
  • Make it extra smooth: Blend longer than usual to fully emulsify the caramelized sugar and butter.
  • Serving tip: Chill your glasses for 10 minutes before serving to keep the milkshake thick longer.
  • Fresh is best: This milkshake is meant to be enjoyed immediately and doesn’t store well once blended.

✨ Tips & Variations

  • Extra indulgent: Add a swirl of caramel or dulce de leche to the blender.
  • No alcohol: Swap rum for banana extract or extra vanilla.
  • Dairy-free: Use coconut milk ice cream and full-fat canned coconut milk.
  • Milkshake float: Top with a splash of cold brew or cola for a fun twist.
